2002
Suffolk at the Imperial

Fewer Suffolk shots than usual could make it to Bisley this year – Debs Fenn and Geoff Cox shot none of the meeting due to work pressures, Robin, Frank and Sid could only shoot a few days due to family commitments.

However, two new people shot for Suffolk – Matthew Firman of Gresham’s School and Alex Walker of Framlingham College.

Matthew was already an "O" class shot but still made the Donegall prize list and shot in Queens II.

Alex smashed his Tyro status, being placed on three shoot prize lists and a further 11 aggregate lists (including 13th in the Young Rifleman’s). He also shot in George’s II and for Scotland in the Home Countries versus the Combined Services (where he got 149, Scotland’s highest score and the second highest score of any team in the match.)

Other individual successes:

Julian Gould came second in the Conan Doyle. He scored 50.9 and then had to tie shoot against Maj AR McLeod, being pipped by 24.0 against 23.1.

Frank Bilton
was 6th in the Lovell

Andy Thomson
was 29th in the Grand.

No Suffolk shots made it to the Finals of the George’s or the Queen’s this year.
