Dear Hot Shots,

Welcome to another shooting year: it may only be January but already two people have phoned to find out what’s happening so it’s high time I published our Spring and Summer fixtures. Please complete the form and either e-mail or post it back to me.

This year I want to see us finishing in the top half of the results — so no more dodgy elevations, wobbly sights or cross shots!

If you are a regular member of the county’s team, then please put the dates in your hopefully empty diary right now and outline them in red. It would also be great to see some new faces down at Bisley or at Thetford. Don’t let the lack of money or a rifle put you off - once again we can offer:

The loan of the Swing target rifle kindly donated to the county by Stewart;

A discounted entry for one lucky newcomer for the main Imperial meeting in July (competitions are free, marking and accommodation has to be paid for).

The Inter-Counties and the Imperial Meeting are earlier this year due to the Commonwealth Games. However, this doesn’t seem to have affected the fixtures earlier in the year.

If anyone is interested in another practice day at Bisley (an opportunity to experiment, shoot strings and get some coaching), then let me know and I will sort out a date. Also please pass on all good ideas and bad stories (I need nominations for "The Can").
